At Mini Maker Faire, Spirit of Tinkering is Alive and Well

As we all know, there is a lot of interest in promoting science, technology, engineering and math-related (STEM) careers in the US. Educators have been struggling for years to figure out how to get American students to stack up in innovation against its global counterparts, according to the NY Times article, Why Science Majors Change Their Mind. Part of the answer to this challenge seems to lie in the ‘maker movement”, which taps into kids’ natural interest in building things like model airplanes, rockets, robots, and the like.

Several folks from the Logic Supply team were on hand at the nearby Mini Maker Faire this past Sunday at Shelburne Farms, where Vermont inventors, artists, farmers, programmers and kids came to share ideas and promote technology and innovation. Here are some pictures of the event:
