Wide input (6V~24V) 90W DC-DC power supply that can control the ON/OFF switch of a mainboard based on the ignition status.

Features

The M1-ATX is an intelligent vehicle ATX power supply. It is designed to provide power and to control the ON/OFF switch of a mainboard based on ignition status. The M1-ATX is a wide input (6-24V) power supply capable of surviving tough engine cranks (down to 5.7V) as well as transient over-voltage situations.

The M1-ATX has 8 user selectable microcontroller driven timing modes, allowing you to choose up to 8 ignition/shutdown timing schemes. By removing all user-selectable jumpers, the M1-ATX becomes a traditional PSU with no ignition control and it can be used in non-vehicle applications.

Even if your computer is off, it will still consume few hundred milliwatts to monitor PC ON/OFF status. When the computer is in the suspend/sleep mode, it will consume even more power, because the RAM needs to be powered at all times. The power consumption in the suspend mode is a few watts. No matter how big your battery is, it will eventually drain your battery in a matter of days.

While in deep sleep mode, the M1-ATX constantly monitors your car battery voltage levels, preventing deep discharge situations by automatically shutting down until the battery reaches safe levels again. Just connect it to your 12V or 24V car/boat/RV battery and power up your PC.

M1-ATX comes equipped with:
  • ATX, HDD and Floppy cable harness
Cable harness includes connectors for: 2 Molex, 1 Berg, 2 ATX
  • Jumpers
  • Faston connectors
  • 2-pin cables for the mainboard ON/OFF switch.
Compatibility with other Mini-ITX components: As of 11/01/05, the M1-ATX is compatible with all Morex and most Casetronic enclosures. This power supply is not compatible with our line of Serener fanless cases. Also, this power supply is not compatible with VIA EPIA PD line of mainboards. Please call us for details.

Note: Do not try this PSU with Pentium 4 mainboards. It works with some low power Pentiums and AMDs. Please check your mainboard's specs and make sure that the CPU is not getting V(core) from the 12V rail. It must be getting V(core) from the 5V rail. Stay away from mainboards that have 4 pin 12V ATX connectors. That is a good indication that the mainboard is using 12V for V(core).
