| Multimedia Powerhouse: VIA VB8003 |
Unlike any other Mini-ITX mainboard available, the VIA VB8003 sets a new precedent for small form factor platforms. Featuring a dedicated onboard graphics processor and support for up to four independent displays, it's VIA's first mainboard to tout the "Trinity Platform"—the codename for the combination of a 64-bit VIA Nano processor, VIA VX800 chipset, and S3 Graphics processor. It has dual HDMI, VGA, DVI-I, LVDS, and dual Gb LAN, as well as a wide range of system management tools, such as a watchdog timer. The VB8003 is an excellent solution for intensive image processing applications, such as digital signage.

| Broadcom Decoder Enables Support for HD Content |
The Broadcom BCM970012 is a hardware decoder in the PCIe Mini Card form factor. It's designed to enable support for H.264 and VC-1 video compression, such as the playback of Blu-ray discs, while having a minimal footprint. For low-power small form factor mainboards, this card offers an incredible advantage—preserve the platform's efficiency while driving high-definition multimedia content, and you can even go fanless. For digital signage and other intensive multimedia applications, the Broadcom decoder is a great option; it offers platform flexibility (plugs into a standard PCIe v1.3 Mini Card slot) and support for a variety of digital formats.

| Versatile and Affordable Solid State System |
The Intel D945GSEJT "Johnstown" Mini-ITX mainboard features DC 12 V onboard power, a low-profile design, and a competitive price-point. It's also low-power enough to be integrated into a completely fanless system without the need for the traditional heat pipe configuration. One such option—the Morex T-1610—combines a thermal heat pad and excellent ventilation into a compact, simple chassis. And, with the ATP Horizontal eUSB SSD, which plugs into the board's USB pin headers, the whole system can be made solid state. Employ the Broadcom hardware decoder and you have a small, silent, fanless media player that can be mounted to the back of an LCD.

| Ultra Fast IDE Flash Modules with SMART Function |
The latest in the Emphase series of direct-plug IDE flash modules, the FDM 8000S touts impressive R/W speeds of 80/75 MB/sec., enhanced power cycling, and S.M.A.R.T. function. Along with a wear-leveling algorithm (which evenly spreads media usage across all pages of the flash), these features offer a sizable increase in the kinds of applications IDE flash modules can be utilized. With storage capacities up to 16 GB, four channel controller, and the ability to monitor the status of your SSD by the built-in S.M.A.R.T. function, the FDM 8000S is an efficient, reliable, and small-footprint alternative to HDDs.
