Hello Scott, in my testing I generally stuck with the openchrome drivers. The only board I tested the VIA drivers on was the SN, since that wouldn't work at all with the openchrome driver.

With enough effort, I'm pretty sure the Screens and Resolutions app was able to convince the board to display at a proper resolution. I've been trying to get around to doing some follow-up testing; I can revisit the EX and see what I find.

I wish I had this information before I bought my Epia EX10000 board, which has so far been hugely disappointing as a media PC. When you ran your tests with Hardy, did you use the included experimental openchrome drivers, or the new VIA drivers found on the linux.via.com.tw site? (not viaarena)?

Sounds like a great success.

I've been running Ubuntu on an Aopen i945GTt-VFA for a while now (over a year and a half) with great success. I also have had monitor issues (even after upgrading to 8.04). I solved things with the 915resolution fix, which isn't ideal, but gets the job done. Past that the system is rock solid and has been one of my favorite builds.
